Galileo - Indigo Girls

Galileo's head was on the block
The crime             1           (look) up the truth
And as the bombshells of my daily fears explode
I try to trace them to my youth

And then you had to bring up reincarnation
Over a couple of beers the other night
And now           2        (to serve) time for mistakes
Made by another in another lifetime

(Chorus) How long 'til my soul         3       (to get) it right
Can any human being ever        4       (reach) that kind of light
I call on the resting soul of Galileo king of night vision
King of insight

And then I think about my fear of motion
Which I never could explain
Some other fool across the ocean years ago
Must             5        (crash) his little airplane

(Chorus)

6            (to make neg.) a joke
You know me I take everything so seriously
If we          7        (to wait) for the time till our souls         8       (to get) right
Then at least I know there         9      (to be) no nuclear annihilation in my lifetime
I'm still not right

(Instrumental)

I offer thanks to those before me
That's all I've got to say
'Cause maybe you squandered big bucks in your lifetime
Now I have to pay

But then again it        10      (to feel) like some sort of inspiration
To let the next life off the hook
Or she'll say "look what I had to overcome from my last life
I think               (to write) a book

How long until my soul gets it right
Can any human being ever reach the Highest Light
Except for the Galileo
King of night vision king of insight

How long…
(Til my soul gets it right)
(Til we reach the highest light)
How long…
(Til my soul gets it right)
(Til we reach the highest light)
How long

Task 3: Fill in the blanks using the correct form of the verb.

Task 5: Imagine you are in an Italian pub.  You are in a bar drinking with your friends discussing the forbidden secrets of Copernicus. Engage in a dialogue.

Describe the scene: The pubs smelt like

Galileo: "my teacher says that it is possible that we are not the center of the universe! He claims that we are just a speck of dust amongst  millions of stars!

Orazio Grassi:  "Hush!, Orazio if anyone from church hears you they will cut your head off!"

Galileo:
